Hey up Julius,
I went to Manchester but only saw the first three bands, I had to get the last train to Skaville, well Stockport to be precise but I think you know what i mean....
The Fractions were ok but I think by their own personal standards that they let themselves down, they had some tuning problems and they did not come across as well as they should have, a little shy !
Next up were Stand Out Riot who were in a word excellent, they, as you would say rocked.
Then there was the Yalla Yallas who have come on leaps and bounds and are putting a good case forward at the moment.
It was nice to see Strummercampers that had made the effort and there was a good crowd, far from full but further from empty ......
Only 6 months to go Julius ....
See you there ?
Tony

Leeds was good,a nice show of strummercamp regulars,Gadge at the controls,Gary & Sarah,Pete & Carol, the lovely crew from Penrith Amigos Phil & Kev(who told funny entertaining stories outside over smokes)
Eastroad who came up from Brixton for both nights really embrace the spirit of Strummercamp had better sound in Leeds I enjoyed their set.Cayne the punk poet did a short set including John Cooper Clarks Kung Fu International.I have seen him before ,I didnt think he really hit his stride,he had been there all afternoon,he is very funny & biting.
There was a thrash metal band (forgot their name) on,I suppose they were good at that, not my cup of tea so outside for a smoke.
Rasta4eyes I love them but dancing was restrained as i fucked my knee up in Manc to the yallas, they played some new songs & finished with Pressure Drop.forgot to tell about the psychotronic men speed punk metal loud as hell but well played, smoke break. The Yalla Yallas Awsome set in Manc Galloway in full Iggy mode 1/2 naked climbing leaping yowling into the audience.Leeds the Yallas fired up sounded great but after 2 songs Rob was losing his voice they did about 5 songs then had to give up .Rob was really upset & went into the audience giving out free cds .
thanks to The Amigos & all my scamp friends for a great weekend.to all the rest where the fuck were you

thanks for the report, dave, just reading your lines raises my strummercamp excitement level! only 6 months to go!

i had a funny night out with my daughter on tuesday, goldblade played a small club in Vienna supporting german oi-band krawallbrüder (means something like riot brothers). it was a little bizarre as it was 200 skinheads, my daughter and i julia cursed herself as she had forgotten to put on something black, she stood out a bit with her blue coat. goldblade were great as always, sound not too good but they made the best out of it. pete and johnny looked a bit deranged (johnny sported a grey full beard!!), but no wonder, they have a hard touring schedule, playing the night before in munich, next night in nuremberg, means hundreds of miles to go. julia liked them very much, she didn't dare to get up front as the skins, who were all good natured but of course jumped around like jerks, frightened her a bit. krawallbrüder were o.k. but after they played the same song for the fifth time we left.
i bought a goldblade shirt at the merchandise stand and the guy there immideately spotted my strumercamp shirt and gave me thumbs up. talk wasn't possible right beside the stage.

Thanks to everyone involved with this weekend ... We had a really good time ... I'm really sorry about having to finish our set early on Sunday ... I had a bad chest the previous week ... and had been coughing alot and thus put strain on my throat ... I played through it on Saturday night ... and I tried to play through it on Sunday but the pain was unbearable and I didn't want to cause further damage ... Hopefully see you soon .. Rock n Roll

P.S

Next Gigs

Sat 12th December - Cardigan Arms in Leeds
Sat 19th December - Man on the Moon in Cambridge
